๐Ÿ”’ Your song stays on your device. It's charted in your browser and never uploaded.

How it charts your song

Your browser listens to the song and measures how the sound changes every 10 milliseconds, across four frequency bands. Sudden jumps are onsets: drum hits, plucks, new chords. It works out the tempo from how those onsets repeat, snaps the strongest ones to the beat grid, and puts low sounds on the left lanes and bright sounds on the right.

Easy keeps about one note a second on the beat. Normal adds half-beats. Hard goes to quarter-beats and adds chords on the big hits. Busy parts of the song get more notes and quiet parts fewer.

Is my music uploaded?

No. The file is decoded and charted on your device, and nothing is sent to a server. That also means you can only play songs you have as a file (MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG), not streams.

Use the chart in your own game

Every chart can be downloaded as a MIDI file. In Unity, Rhythm Game Starter imports it as a level: C, D, E and F map to the four lanes, and the BPM is read from the file name. The MIDI chart guide walks through it. Want a quick game instead? Try today's Daily Beat.
